The Role of Social Worker with Us

We are currently actively working on the implementation of first and second line social services. The first line primarily focuses on early and preventive measures, while the second line mainly deals with more complex needs and interventions. The new children and youth unit belongs to the second line, and as a social worker with us, you will be part of the same unit as family therapists, where we work closely together to meet individual needs!

In Kungsbacka, there is an opportunity to work with all types of cases in a reasonably sized municipality. As a social worker in the children and youth unit, you will investigate and follow up on decided interventions. With us, you will have the opportunity to help develop the operations and utilize your knowledge and previous experiences. You will also work in a team with experienced colleagues, where we collaborate when needed.

We are continuously working to improve our introduction process, and we offer an extra introductory package if you are new to the profession, where you will receive extended support from an experienced social worker and have the opportunity to meet other new colleagues and learn the basics of the job together. We call the forum “introduction method”.

Your Profile

We are interested in you who have the right combination of personality and competence. You are genuinely interested in creating, maintaining, and nurturing good relationships. You also enjoy planning and organizing your work efficiently, with the goal of fostering a work climate characterized by openness and humility. You express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, as this is required in daily work. Personal suitability is of great importance.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in social work
• A valid driver's license (as the position includes follow-up of placements)
• At least one year of experience as a social worker with children and youth

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in public authority
• Experience in social work with children and youth

Learn More About Us

The second line for children and youth consists of four teams with seven social workers and family therapists linked to each team, led by two unit managers. Each team has a lead social worker for support in daily work. Your workplace is located in the city hall, just a two-minute walk from Kungsbacka train station, and only 20 minutes by train from Gothenburg. We are also proud of our beautiful children's conversation rooms, which are adapted for discussions with children and youth.
