JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Together, we create Tröingeskolan, a school where all students are everyone's students.

In the school year 25/26, we opened the doors to our newly built F-9 school in Falkenberg! Our secondary school is now growing, and this fall we will have grades 7 and 8.

Tröingeskolan is a school where safety, curiosity, and community permeate everything we do. The newly built Tröingeskolan, with three floors, combines the opportunities of a large school with the feeling of a smaller school through home rooms and inspiring learning environments.

We believe that together is the key; we take joint responsibility for students' learning and development.

We are looking for a school counselor for Tröingeskolan's middle and high school. As a school counselor, you are part of the school's student health team. You work closely with students, guardians, and school staff. You contribute with psychosocial expertise in both preventive and remedial efforts. The work includes, among other things:

• Individual conversations with students and guardians
• Support conversations and social support
• Collaboration with teachers and other student health professionals
• Contacts with external actors such as social services, BUP, police, and more.

You will be part of an engaged student health team consisting of another school counselor, school nurses, special educators/special teachers, school psychologists, and principals. We value collegial learning together with other counselors in the municipality, and you will have regular networking meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in social work
• Good knowledge of the Social Services Act and the Education Act
• Ability to express yourself well in both speech and writing
• Good digital competence.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Experience working as a school counselor or with children/youth in other settings.
• Previous experience in social services or experience in preventive and promotional work.
• Training in conversation methodology or supervision.

As a person, you are secure, empathetic, and unpretentious. You are engaged in the psychosocial situation of children and youth and have an easy time building trusting relationships.

You are professional and respectful in your interactions with students, guardians, and colleagues. You have the ability to work independently but also in close collaboration with others. As a person, you have a solution-focused approach while being structured, proactive, and having good decision-making skills. You enjoy working in an educational environment and in a team with different professions.
