Cultural and Leisure Administration

The Cultural and Leisure Administration manages and oversees the municipality's cultural and leisure facilities such as libraries, youth centers, cultural schools, theaters, and sports facilities. We also provide services and grants to associations within the municipality.

Cultural School in Varberg

At the Cultural School in Varberg, we work for a strong whole and that each student has the best possible encounter with their cultural expression. The activities are aimed at all children and young people aged 5-20 years, and our guiding principles are creativity and development. The Cultural School employs 40 people, and most subjects are represented. Teaching is conducted both individually and in groups in the Cultural School's premises at Rosenfred and throughout the municipality, in collaboration with primary schools.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

For the eighth consecutive year, the Cultural School Varberg offers a free day camp for children aged 7-10 years. During one week, children can try subjects such as art, dance, music, theater, film, and circus. Here, participants are given the opportunity for creative meetings and community during the summer break. In addition to Varberg's center, the summer cultural school will also be available in Väröbacka, Veddige, Tvååker, and Trönninge. The activities are open to all children registered in Varberg Municipality and are completely free of charge. The summer cultural school is open Monday-Thursday during weeks 26 and 27. We offer two sessions per day, and children either attend the morning group or the afternoon group, and all are provided with a snack.

We are looking for someone who has the ability to focus on the child's perspective and is driven to provide children and young people with the best possible conditions to meet various cultural expressions. We believe that you can stimulate students' curiosity and creativity and can adapt your teaching from beginner to advanced level. As a person, you have great social skills and are driven to create well-functioning collaborations with both colleagues and participants in the activities. You can drive a process forward and have the ability to create community in a group.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with education in your creative subject. Experience in teaching children and young people. A B driver's license is an advantage but not a requirement. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

OTHER

Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis. Varberg Municipality has a political decision regarding the desired employment rate.
