At Vallåsskolan, we develop our teaching together to improve goal fulfillment, safety, and study environment. We have a student health team consisting of principals, special educators, counselors, school nurses, study and career counselors, and integration coordinators. The student health team works closely with the working teams to collaboratively develop an accessible learning environment for all students. We also have access to central student health with school psychologists and school doctors.

Your Responsibilities

As a special educator, you will take overall responsibility for the special educational work in the organization, primarily focusing on grades 4-9, together with another special educator. You will work closely with the management on school development, follow-up, and evaluation of assessments and special support. You will also be an important sounding board and support for our resource organization, which includes flex, SPU, and SUND. You play a vital role in collaboration with management, other staff, and guardians. You are expected to be an active participant in the work of developing accessible learning environments for all students.

You will take overall responsibility for the entire process concerning extra adaptations, special support, and action plans. You will develop the school's student health work together with other professionals in student health. You are expected to lead and hold meetings with guardians and students. We want you to influence our ongoing work to develop Vallåsskolan into an even better school.

Your Qualifications

You are a qualified special educator with a primary school teacher education and have experience in teaching. You have clear ideas about how students in need of special support can optimize their development and learning, and you can implement these in practice. You meet students based on their needs and realize that you, together with your colleagues, are responsible for their success. You are aware that your approach affects your surroundings and adapt it according to different situations and conditions.

You need to have excellent collaboration skills, be flexible, and communicative. You are comfortable in your role as a special educator and aware of the challenges that may arise due to various needs and issues in the school environment. You are confident in contributing your perspectives and knowledge in meetings with students, guardians, and colleagues. You see the opportunity to work together with students, guardians, and colleagues to handle the challenges that need to be addressed.
