Falkenberg High School is a municipal upper secondary school with 13 national programs, an introductory program, and three programs within the adapted upper secondary school. Approximately 1400 students attend the school. Adult education in Falkenberg and Campus Falkenberg conduct a significant amount of education in their own right and have up to 1000 students studying at various levels and extents. The staff at the school as a whole comprises about 200 people. The educational programs are mostly gathered in nearby, newly or renovated premises.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a qualified special education teacher with a focus on language, writing, and reading development who is passionate about working both closely with students and more broadly. The position is cross-unit and as a special education resource, you will be connected where the need is greatest.

In your role as a special education teacher, you will be part of the school's resource team and work closely with special educators. Since the assignment is directed towards both college preparatory and vocational programs, you will collaborate closely with several principals in addition to working with various resource and student health functions.

As a special education teacher, you will primarily work with students on an individual and group level to enhance their development towards the goals in Swedish as a second language, Swedish as a foreign language, and English in collaboration with teaching staff. Another important aspect of the assignment is to help develop materials and drive efforts to ensure equity in the distribution of the school's pedagogical resources.

As a special education teacher at Falkenberg High School, you will also take on the role of co-leader, where you, together with lead teachers, special educators, and special education teachers, drive the pedagogical development work of the organization forward. This work is a central part of the school's overall effort towards higher goal fulfillment.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a qualified special education teacher focused on language, writing, and reading development. Work experience and certification as a teacher in upper secondary school are meritorious.

In line with Education Falkenberg, we are looking for a person with a relational approach and a good ability to create new and develop existing relationships. To thrive in this role, it is important that you are comfortable with a changing work environment and have the ability to focus on opportunities in various situations that arise.

You have good communication skills in both spoken and written language.

We expect you to have good digital competence and experience working with various learning platforms for documentation and feedback.
