Special Education Teacher Wanted for Adapted Primary School in Dalby
Do you want to help shape a new student group within adapted primary school and create a safe and accessible learning environment from the ground up?
In the fall of 2026, we plan to start a new student group within adapted primary school in Dalby, grades 1–3 with a focus on subject areas.
We are now looking for a special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities (ID) who wants to help build the operation together with us.
In this recruitment, we have chosen to replace the personal letter with selection questions. Your answers to these questions are therefore an important part of our selection process. We may apply rolling selection, which means that interviews may take place during the application period.
About the Role and Your Responsibilities
As a special education teacher, you will play a central role in the startup of a student group within grades 1–3 with a focus on subject areas.
You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching tailored for students with intellectual disabilities and extensive support needs. You will be a mentor for a group of students and have overall pedagogical responsibility in the student group.
Your tasks include:
- Leading and structuring the pedagogical work in the student group.
- Guiding and collaborating with student support staff.
- Creating accessible and clarifying learning environments.
- Working with alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) as a natural part of teaching.
- Systematically working with mapping, documentation, and follow-up according to the Education Act.
- Proactively working to remove barriers in the learning environment.
- Collaborating closely with student health, guardians, and external actors.
The assignment also involves working together with colleagues to build structure, methods, and a safe learning environment for the student group within the framework of existing operations.
The position is a permanent full-time employment (100%).
We Are Looking for You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a certified teacher with a special education degree focusing on intellectual disabilities.
- Has experience teaching in preschool or early school years for students with intellectual disabilities (ID) and extensive support needs.
- Has documented experience leading and structuring pedagogical work in a student group and guiding student support staff.
- Has good knowledge of adaptations, clarifying pedagogy, and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC).
- Is structured and confident in your pedagogical leadership and creates clarity in a student group with extensive support needs.
- Thrives in a developing organization and sees opportunities to develop methods and structure together with others.
You share our belief that all students can develop based on their conditions and that teaching and support should promote independence and prepare students for the next steps in education and adult life.
