Student Supporter for Adapted Primary Schools in Dalby

We are now looking for student supporters for the adapted primary schools in Dalby.

The positions are located within the Nyvång school area and may be filled at Nyvång's adapted primary school or Backsippan, which is co-located with Hagalundskolan. There is also the possibility of placement in new operations based on upcoming needs.

In this recruitment, we have chosen to replace the personal letter with selection questions. Your answers to these questions are therefore an important part of our selection process. We may apply rolling selection, which means that interviews may take place during the application period.

About the Role and Your Responsibilities

As a student supporter, you will work in a team closely with students – both in groups and individually – throughout the school day and in after-school care. You are an important part of the students' learning by supporting and challenging them in all parts of the day. The assignment involves pedagogical and social support combined with care, where relationships, safety, and structure are crucial.

The work regularly includes:

• support in teaching and daily life based on the student's individual needs.
• support with dressing and undressing.
• support during meal situations.
• support during toilet visits, including diaper changes.
• working closely with students in situations that require both physical and mental presence.

In Your Role as a Student Supporter, You Will:

• actively work with structure, predictability, and clear pedagogical methods.
• meet and handle stress and challenging behaviors with a low-arousal approach.
• collaborate closely with teachers, other student supporters, other staff, and guardians.
• participate in excursions and activities outside the school area.

The care efforts are carried out with a clear goal of strengthening the students' independence and participation, based on each student's conditions.

We Are Looking for You

We are looking for someone who shares our fundamental view that all students can develop, regardless of their developmental level, and who works to make students as independent as possible based on their individual conditions.

You see teaching, care, and relationship work as interconnected parts of the student's development and work with clear goals, structure, and a respectful approach in all situations of teaching and daily life.

We are looking for someone who:

• has experience working with children and young people with autism and intellectual disabilities.
• has worked with personal care, including toilet support and diaper changes.
• is confident in combining care work with a pedagogical and relationship-building approach.
• can work independently but is also a team player who takes responsibility for communication and sees collaboration in the work team as a prerequisite for students' success.
• is stable, empathetic, and professional in situations that can be demanding.
• has a very good ability to speak, understand, and write Swedish without limitations, as the work requires close communication and documentation.

You have a high school or post-secondary education in child and leisure, health and care, social work, or other education that the school management deems equivalent. You have knowledge of and experience with low-arousal approaches, as well as knowledge of AAC/sign language support and the use of digital aids in working with students.

Adapted primary school within the Nyvång school area is conducted at Nyvång and Backsippan in Dalby. Within the school area, there is also Fåglasång adapted primary school in Södra Sandby.
