Research Assistant in Political Psychology

The Faculty of Teacher Education conducts research and education across a wide range of fields.

We are now looking for a research assistant for our projects in political psychology, focusing on political psychological aspects of polarization, climate, and gender attitudes. The studies in the project have a quantitative and often experimental approach.

The position is located at the Faculty of Teacher Education, Department of Psychology. In the Department of Psychology, we are 16 teachers who teach independent courses in psychology, the master's program in psychology, the behavioral science program, as well as courses within teacher education and the public health pedagogy program.

We are now looking for someone who wants to participate in teaching and development work with us, contribute to strengthening our research environment, and improve our educational offerings.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the research assistant include creating survey materials, developing texts and images to be used as stimulus material, assembling survey questions, and pilot testing the material through smaller studies. You will do this under the guidance of the project leader. Other tasks include recruiting participants for the project, creating surveys in Qualtrics (a web survey platform), conducting data collections, analyzing and compiling data, as well as various administrative tasks.

Eligibility and Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a master's degree in psychology, with previous experience in advanced statistical data processing and a personal interest in political psychological issues. If you have education in political psychology and/or gender psychology, that is an advantage. You should have previous experience working as a research assistant with the aforementioned tasks and experience in experimental methodology. It is also advantageous if you have experience writing scientific texts.

Furthermore, very good computer skills and knowledge of statistical data processing programs are required for the position. We consider it an advantage if you have good knowledge of the Qualtrics platform, as well as knowledge of programming (e.g., R, Python). For the position, you need to have good skills in both Swedish and English, both written and spoken.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities, and the position requires accuracy, good planning ability, and independent work, as well as good communication skills. You are expected to take initiative, solve problems independently, and assist in driving the project forward under guidance. A personal interest in the subject is therefore essential. You collaborate well with others and handle contact with both survey participants and any other stakeholders smoothly. You also possess good problem-solving analytical skills and are not afraid to come up with new ideas and approaches in your work.

The position is a specific fixed-term full-time employment for the period 2026-04-01 - 2026-12-31 or by agreement. The location is in Kristianstad at Näsby, with good bus connections and parking opportunities.
