Prästavångsskolan in Broby is a health-profiled and reading school that reflects the diversity of society. The school has approximately 370 students in total. Currently, the school is divided into two units by stage, but by autumn 2026, the school will be merged into a F-6 school. The school also has five after-school care departments; four grade-specific after-school departments for grades F-3 and a common after-school department for older students in grades 4-6.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now looking for two licensed craft teachers who want to help shape a modern craft pedagogy. Instead of working in traditionally divided classrooms, we focus on a co-teaching model where collaboration between materials and techniques is central.

We believe that the craft subject is at its best when the boundaries between soft and hard are blurred. As teachers with us, you will work closely together to plan, implement, and assess the teaching. The goal is to give students a seamless experience where they can explore expressions that combine, for example, wood constructions with textile details.

The position includes teaching in grades 3-5.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed craft teacher with qualifications in textile craft or wood and metal craft, or both specializations. What is most important to us is not which classroom you feel most at home in, but your willingness to work with a colleague to blur the boundaries between materials. You are a confident educator driven by collaboration and see shared leadership in the classroom as an opportunity to enhance the quality of teaching.

To succeed in the role, we believe you are curious about new techniques and have an unpretentious attitude towards your profession; you are happy to share your expertise but are equally ready to learn from your colleague. You have a good ability to organize an inspiring learning environment and are passionate about guiding students through the entire creative process, from idea to finished product, whether the path goes through the sewing machine, workbench, or a combination of both. Your communication skills are central, as close and ongoing dialogue with your co-teacher is key to our shared recipe for success.
