JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teaching assistant, you will work closely with a student who needs extra support throughout the school day. A central part of the assignment is to provide communicative support through Swedish sign language (TSP) and to adapt communication according to the student's individual needs.

If you have experience with CI (cochlear implants), this is valuable as you can contribute to a safe and responsive communicative environment where the student's needs and signals are noticed and reinforced.

You will support the student in their education by clarifying instructions, creating structure, and helping the student understand and participate in both learning situations and social contexts. The job also includes practical moments during the day where the student needs support.

The position includes work at the after-school center. There, you will be part of the regular work team and actively participate in planning and implementing activities for the entire student group. At the same time, you will continue to be a communicative and social support for the student you are following.

You will collaborate closely with the class teacher, special educator, and other educators to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment. Your work contributes to the student feeling involved, understood, and encouraged both at school and in after-school activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with education and/or experience in pedagogy or the field of child and youth care. You have experience or a strong interest in working with students in need of special support.

Requirements:

• Good knowledge of Swedish sign language (TSP).
• Ability to adapt communication and working methods according to the student's needs.

Meritorious:

• Experience working with students with hearing impairments.
• Knowledge of and preferably experience working with students using CI (cochlear implants).
• Previous work in schools or other educational activities.
