Åsedaskolan F-6 is located in a picturesque environment close to forests, illuminated trails, an ice rink, and large green areas. The school has about 250 students distributed across two parallel classes in each grade. We work in well-functioning teams with the student's best interests in focus and have a close collaboration with Åsedaskolan 7-9, which is directly adjacent.
The school has an active student health team that meets every week and consists of a school nurse, counselor, special educator, special teacher, and principal. We also have a safety team that works preventively and promote to create safety and study peace for our students.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a teacher in after-school care, you, along with other teachers in after-school care, are responsible for ensuring that the education in after-school care meets the requirements of the after-school care's governing documents.
You are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on an activity that is goal-oriented, varied, and stimulating for students' development. The assignment includes creating a balance between guided and free activities and using various materials, activities, and learning environments that stimulate students' desire to play, live, and learn.
You actively work to promote students' social development and see knowledge development as a natural part of the everyday life of after-school care. The role also includes working across subjects, for example, by integrating mathematics and language development into the activities.
You are part of a grade team where you collaborate with colleagues around the students' entire school day and contribute to the development of teaching and operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a certified teacher with qualifications to teach in after-school care.
- Has very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Has good knowledge of the after-school care curriculum and works based on its mission.
It is advantageous if you have:
- Experience working in Swedish schools for at least one school year.
- Competence in language-developing working methods.
- Knowledge of signs as support (TAKK), alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), or visual support.
- Experience working with students in need of special support.
