About our participants and operations

At Mora Folk High School, adult participants from various backgrounds and life situations study.

We have:

• Participants with neuropsychiatric disabilities and other variations, mental health issues, and social problems. 
• Participants who need extra support in reading, writing, mathematics, or study techniques. 
• An operation where relationship-building, safety, and individual adaptation are central.

As a special educator with us, you will work in a calmer environment with fewer participants than in many other school forms, while meeting students with extensive support and adaptation needs. 

You will

Map participants' needs and develop action proposals and adaptations. 

• Provide special educational support individually and in smaller groups. 
• Support course responsible teachers in planning, implementation, and follow-up. 
• Contribute to developing the school's working methods regarding accessible learning environments, interactions, and structure. 
• Coordinate and convene in participant health matters.
• Develop the school's preventive and promotional work for a good study environment and high attendance among participants.
• Be a support educator for certain hours per week.

The work is qualified and places high demands on both personal drive and initiative as well as the ability to collaborate in different groups. The folk high school offers shorter decision-making paths, high teacher density and close collaboration in a small faculty. We can offer more time per participant than in, for example, high school and adult education.

We are looking for someone who

• Is a licensed teacher with special education and/or special teacher training (or equivalent). 
• Has experience working with individuals with significant support needs, preferably in adult education and/or folk high school. 
• Has solid competence and experience working with individuals who have NPF diagnoses.
• Has a good ability to build relationships, create trust, and work in a low-arousal manner. 
• Is solution-focused, structured, and enjoys close collaboration with colleagues. 
• Can express themselves well in spoken and written Swedish.

Meritorious

• Experience in folk high school or other study-motivating activities for adults. 
• Experience in mentoring staff on special educational issues.
