About Domarhagsskolan

Domarhagsskolan is a grades 7–9 school centrally located in Avesta. We share some facilities with Karlfeldtgymnasiet and are part of a principal area that also includes adapted primary school grades 7–9 and two special education groups. We have about 320 students and an engaged staff that works based on a common game plan where professionalism, respect, and courage are guiding principles. The concept of #aktivtsnäll permeates our work to promote safety and study peace. We are a mobile-free school and believe in the teacher's professional leadership as crucial for students' development.

About the Role

We are looking for substitute teachers for Domarhagsskolan 7-9. The role includes being responsible for the implementation and follow-up of lesson sessions. In some cases, it also includes responsibility for certain planning. The role also involves providing feedback on how the lessons went to the regular teachers. The position is a temporary employment based on the needs of the workplace.

Qualifications

You have:

• Good knowledge of the school’s subjects
• Knowledge of the school’s governing documents
• Good digital competence and experience working in learning platforms and administrative systems

It is an advantage if you have a teaching degree and experience teaching grades 7–9.

Before employment, a valid extract from the criminal record is required according to the Education Act (2010:800). From March 1, 2026, Avesta municipality will also conduct a background check against the suspicion register in accordance with the new law (2026:49) on background checks of individuals working with children (register according to the law on criminal records and suspicion registers). Employment can only occur after a successful background check.
