As an exam invigilator with us, you are responsible for ensuring that the examination environment is calm and safe, and that the process is conducted in a legally secure manner. Your role is, in other words, very important.

Your workday as an exam invigilator

Your main tasks are to plan and prepare for the examination sessions and to supervise the exams that students take in classrooms and digital spaces online. In addition to paper-based exams, Dalarna University is increasingly conducting digital exams, and this digital focus will become more extensive in the future.

The role includes practical and administrative tasks related to the examination such as:

• conducting identity checks
• providing information before the exam (in both Swedish and English)
• digital support, e.g., assisting with submissions in the learning platforms Canvas & Inspera.

Are you the person we are looking for?

As an exam invigilator, you should:

• have access to your own computer and a stable internet connection
• be communicative and comfortable speaking in front of large groups
• have a professional demeanor
• be able to follow instructions and regulations
• have excellent collaboration skills

It is an advantage if you have:

• knowledge and experience with Office 365, Zoom, and Teams
• completed high school education
• worked at a university/college
• experience working with examinations/university entrance tests

The employment

The position is a special fixed-term employment in the form of an intermittent position. This means that you are employed on an as-needed basis and receive financial compensation per hour. For exam invigilators, a fixed hourly wage applies. The number of hours worked varies per person and over time. Examinations usually take place on weekdays during the day, but evenings and weekends may occur in exceptional cases. Work may take place both on the Campus in Falun and the Campus in Borlänge.

To work as an exam invigilator with us, you must first complete a mandatory exam invigilator training. After that, you will attend a training session where you shadow an experienced exam invigilator to learn how the work is done in practice. You cannot combine the exam invigilator work with being a student at Dalarna University.
