Do you want to be a part of the staff at the Army Combat School in Skövde and help lead and coordinate its operations?
The role of the Army Combat School (MSS) is to create conditions for ground combat units to effectively accomplish assigned tasks both nationally and internationally, in collaboration with other parts of the army. MSS also handles tasks for the entire Armed Forces, such as the development and procurement of soldier-carried equipment, firearms, and support weapons. Within this framework, MSS trains the future leaders of the Armed Forces using advanced training facilities and extensive knowledge.
The Army Combat School is looking for a professional officer to serve as a traffic safety manager. The school is organized with a staff, development unit, training unit, and the cadre staff of the 1st Division. MSS operates both in Skövde and Kvarn.
The MSS staff consists of approximately 29 employees and is divided into seven departments under the leadership of the staff chief. The position is located at the MSS operational department, which has personnel in both Skövde and Kvarn. At the operational department in Skövde, there is a chief, staff officer, traffic safety manager, administrator, and IT manager. In Kvarn, there is an operational safety officer and an administrator.
Main Responsibilities
As the traffic safety manager at the operational department, you will work both independently, leading preparations within the staff, and/or in temporarily assembled working groups within MSS. The operations will vary in nature and scope, where a flexible approach and task adaptation are prerequisites for achieving expected results. The position of traffic safety manager includes, in addition to regular duties, serving as MSS unit transport leader, conducting training for students, and participating in exercise leadership as the traffic safety manager both nationally and internationally.
In this role, you will also work with:
- Responsible for MSS traffic safety plan
- Lead the systematic work on traffic safety at MSS
- Responsible for issuing and maintaining driver certificates within MSS
- Support C MSS with traffic safety analyses and follow-ups
- Normally lead investigations related to traffic safety at MSS
- Be part of the MSS investigation group
- Lead and support the training of personnel and cadets
- Support TränE with traffic safety issues during the planning and execution of larger exercises
Requirements
- Professional officer SO 7 – 8
- Military driving examiner, at least vehicle instructor
- Driver's license at least class B/C
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
- Good computer skills in the Armed Forces' IT systems
