At Älvsborg Amphibious Regiment in Gothenburg, we operate where land meets sea and serve as an important link between the army and naval forces.
As a re-established regiment with garrison responsibility, we are growing and in need of more competent professional officers who will continue to develop the unit with its important task: Defending Sweden's many coastal archipelago areas and protecting our routes into Scandinavia's largest port to safeguard Sweden's strategic imports.

The 17th Surveillance Boat Company is an amphibious unit and one of two combat units belonging to Älvsborg Amphibious Regiment in Gothenburg. The company consists of company leadership with staff, Command Troop with Command Vessel, Close Protection Troop, Surveillance Boat Platoon, Sensor Platoon, Boarding Troop, or Troop Troop. The company specializes in coastal submarine hunting, maritime combat, and boarding.
The 17th Surveillance Boat Company is growing, and we are now looking for you who want to develop in a company with good future prospects.
Main Responsibilities
The position as GrpC in the Sensor Platoon involves leading soldiers in daily service. The tasks are varied, but the main focus is on training in the platoon's sensors and weapon systems as well as general soldier training.
In the field, there is a great variety of tasks, which requires you to be physically strong and resilient but also able to handle long periods of low physical intensity with a greater focus on high mental sharpness.
Qualifications
- Specialist Officer Examination
- Good ability to express oneself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
- Approved FM FysS basic level
Meritorious
- Knowledge and experience of sonar systems
- Knowledge and experience of mine systems
- Instructor Ksp58, Ksp90, GRG, and p-shot
- Previous employment in the Amphibious Corps, Ground Combat Units, or Reconnaissance Units.
Personal Qualities
As a professional officer in the company, requirements are placed on your accuracy, initiative, sense of responsibility, teamwork ability, and good administrative skills. You should be able to perform well in different environments, onboard vessels/boats, in the field, and at the home base, with temporary peaks in workload. During selection, great importance will be placed on personal qualities and suitability.

Employment form: SO/K, permanent employment. A probationary period of 6 months applies to new hires.
Individual salary setting applies.
Work location: Västra Frölunda, Gothenburg.
Travel and evening/weekend duties as well as exercise days occur.
Start date: By agreement, but no later than June 2026.
