Staff Assistant at the Training Unit, Army Combat School

The role of the Army Combat School (MSS) is to create conditions for ground combat units to effectively accomplish their assigned tasks both nationally and internationally, in collaboration with other parts of the army. MSS also handles tasks for the entire Armed Forces, such as the development and procurement of soldier-carried equipment, firearms, and support weapons. Within this framework, the Army Combat School trains the future leaders of the Armed Forces using advanced training facilities and extensive knowledge.

Within this framework, the Training Unit at MSS trains Army leaders and units with the support of advanced training facilities and extensive knowledge. As a staff assistant at the Training Unit, you primarily work at the command training facility (LTA battalion), alternatively with exercise planners or unit leadership.

Main Responsibilities:

Your position includes various administrative tasks aimed at the preparation and execution of training/exercises. You will also manage incoming and outgoing information in various command support systems. You may also participate in different roles as a staff assistant or instructor for staff assistants. You will also support in resolving administrative tasks within the unit.

The employment may involve periodic travel for exercises and business trips both in Sweden and abroad.

In this position, there is an opportunity to develop towards a functional direction as a combat control assistant, combat assistant, or intelligence assistant.

Qualifications:

  • Approved high school diploma
  • Approved military basic training
  • Driving license class B manual

Meritorious:

  • Previous employment within the Armed Forces or basic training as a staff assistant
  • Completed staff assistant training
  • Experience with the Armed Forces' command support systems such as SLB, SHQ
  • Good ability to handle Microsoft Office applications (Office 2010 and later).
  • Good ability to express oneself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
  • Military driving licenses
  • Training in PRIO

Working Hours: Daytime, evenings, and weekends
Work Location: Skövde (Business trips nationally and internationally may occur)
Start Date: 2026-08-10 or by agreement.
