About the Unit

The position of guard soldier is located at the unit's guard squadron, which is functionally led by the K 3 security department. The guard squadron maintains public order and safety within the Karlsborg garrison and is responsible for interventions and surveillance of the Swedish Armed Forces' protected objects and activities.
Main Responsibilities
In your role, you will be a soldier in the group you are placed in. You and your group will perform the tasks assigned to the guard squadron. The position of guard soldier includes various tasks, including managing technical alarm systems, communication systems, being part of an intervention-ready protection force, handling administration, and conducting routine work within protection and surveillance at the garrison. As a guard soldier, you will work in shift duty in a fixed team of group size. The position also provides good opportunities for those not residing in the Karlsborg municipality.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Completed military service/basic military training with satisfactory results.
- Driver's license at least class B (manual transmission).
- Approved security guard training.

You feel confident representing the authority in public contexts and communicating with both large and small groups with varying levels of knowledge in the subject area. You have good social skills, are service-oriented, and flexible towards both internal and external stakeholders. You are meticulous, security-conscious, and have high integrity.
You should share the Swedish Armed Forces' core values, code of conduct, and represent the Armed Forces' activities in your professional role.
In your role as a guard soldier, you are in an authority-exercising position, which places high demands on social skills and professionalism.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Meritorious
- Experience in security service.
- Approved user of Pistol 88 Block A.
- Approved user of Pistol 88 Block B.
- Approved user of Close Combat Block D and expandable baton.
- Military driver's license.
- International service.
- Previous service within the Karlsborg garrison.
Other
Employment form: Fixed-term employment under the “Agreement on fixed-term employment with continuous service for group leaders, soldiers, and sailors within the Armed Forces.” Employment period of 8 years, with the possibility of extension to 12 years.
Employment degree: Full-time. Working hours in the rolling shift duty include day, evening, and night shifts with on-call duty, and also includes weekend work.
Work location: Karlsborg, travel in service may occur.
Start date: By agreement.
Individual salary setting applies.

The Life Regiment Hussars, K 3, has fast and effective units and extensive experience in the intelligence field. K 3 trains a ranger battalion and an intelligence battalion. The ranger battalion is a unit with high mobility that should be able to be first on the scene during an intervention. The intelligence battalion delivers intelligence by using advanced technology, personnel on the ground, and unmanned aerial vehicles (RPAS).
