Chief of the Western Military Region

The Chief of the Western Military Region with a regional staff leads subordinate units, collaborates with regional and local actors, directs security and intelligence services, and supports operational and tactical commanders in solving tasks within the region.

Within the intelligence and security department, there are functions for intelligence service, security intelligence service, security protection service, and signals protection service.

The intelligence service aims to clarify foreign activities in Sweden's vicinity. The security intelligence service aims to clarify the Armed Forces' protected values and identify threats to these. The security protection service aims to ensure that the Armed Forces maintain control over what is to be protected.

As a security officer, your primary task is to work with planning, implementation, reporting, and evaluation of the regional security protection service, as well as to plan and lead control activities regarding security protection within the military region.

You will work on developing and following up the security protection function in collaboration with other parts within the Armed Forces and carry out planning tasks within the staff.

Also included is the collection and processing of information, conducting investigations of security-threatening activities directed against the Armed Forces, and providing various materials for decision-making in military security services within the Western Military Region's territorial responsibility. You will lead or participate in the daily operations in the staff and follow up on security services in collaboration with other parts within the Armed Forces.

The position includes standby and on-call duties as the Western Military Region leads regional intelligence and security services over time.

Qualifications

• Swedish citizenship
• Professional officer OR7 – OR8 or OF2 – OF3
• Trained and worked as a security manager within the Armed Forces
• Driver's license at least class B

Meritorious

• Experience in security service at OrgE and higher staff
• Experience in control activities
• Trained in the IT system IS Undsäk
• Experience in training and lecturing
• Experience in staff work

You are creative and see solutions to problems. You have a high work capacity and work in a structured manner. Your commitment and knowledge are needed to further develop the unit together with other employees. We therefore believe that you thrive in an environment that is constantly evolving and appreciate the variety of working both independently and in collaboration with colleagues. At times, the workload is high, which means you should be stress-resistant. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
