As a re-established regiment with garrison responsibility, we are growing and in need of more competent professional officers to continue developing the unit with its important mission: Defending Sweden's many coastal archipelago areas and protecting our routes into Scandinavia's largest port to safeguard Sweden's strategic imports.

The 17th Surveillance Boat Company is an amphibious unit and a war unit belonging to the Älvsborg Amphibious Regiment in Gothenburg.

The company consists of company headquarters with staff, command troop with command vessel, close protection troop, surveillance boat platoon, sensor platoon, boarding troop, and troop troop.

The company specializes in coastal submarine hunting, surface combat, and boarding operations.

The 17th Surveillance Boat Company is growing, and we are now looking for you who want to develop in a company with good future prospects.

Main Responsibilities

The position of SonO/SonB is placed on one of the company's surveillance boats.

As SonO, you are responsible for the vessel's underwater systems and weapon systems and play a central role in the ship's combat. You also lead preventive and corrective maintenance for the systems you are responsible for.

Other tasks of varying nature may occur, such as leading training in underwater combat, deck work, and deepening knowledge in certain subsystems such as weapon stations and ROV.

Qualifications

• SOU with a focus on underwater combat
• Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
• Approved FM FysS basic level

Meritorious

• Previous service in a similar position.
• System technical training and/or experience in system technical work.
• SUSA and/or experience in conducting combat training on land and at sea.

Personal Qualities

As a professional officer in the company, demands are placed on your accuracy, initiative, responsibility, teamwork ability, and good administrative skills. You should be able to perform well in various environments, aboard ships/boats, in the field, and at home base with temporary peaks in workload. During selection, great importance will be placed on personal qualities and suitability.

Other Information

Employment type: SO/K. Individual salary setting applies.
Work location: Västra Frölunda, Gothenburg.
Travel, evening/weekend duty, standby, and Armed Forces days occur.
Start date: By agreement, but no later than August 2026.
