We are in full swing recruiting summer substitutes and looking for colleagues for housing support as well as for our daily activities, group homes, child and youth activities, service housing, and personal assistance.

Here, you will work with individuals with some form of functional variation. The operations are based on the individual's granted LSS or SoL decision.

We are looking for you who want to work on a schedule during the day/evening, in some cases with sleeping on-call duty or only awake night shifts, during weeks 24–34. Most often, the schedules include working every other weekend. Most operations are conducted around the clock every day of the year. We work with a 37-hour week as a full-time measure for day/evening and a 34.33-hour week for awake night shifts.

Kungälv Municipality offers monthly employment for all summer substitutes who work more than four weeks. This is a binding employment that guarantees you scheduled work shifts, a ready-made schedule, and salary paid out in the same month.

Job Responsibilities

As a colleague in our operations, you will be part of an engaged staff group.

Your tasks will involve providing care, assistance, and support to users based on their individual needs. The individual's daily life with tasks such as cleaning, laundry, cooking, medication management, care tasks, shopping, leisure activities, walks, excursions, etc., is an obvious part of your work. Doing this in a motivating and pedagogical way is a prerequisite. You will base your work on the individual's needs, desires, and wishes while utilizing the resources and abilities each individual has.

Qualifications

Requirements:
You must be at least 18 years old. You should have good mental and physical condition, a low-arousal approach, and a pedagogical attitude. Knowledge of various ways to communicate is expected as this is part of your daily work. Your personal qualities are important, and we want you to have a professional demeanor towards everyone you encounter in your work.

Your tasks will include documenting and communicating with various parties, which requires good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. Since computers are used as a work tool, you need to have good computer skills.

As a summer substitute, you will need to complete and pass a medication training course, which the municipality provides for you to receive medication delegation.

Meritorious:
Experience working with individuals who have various functional variations or other experience in care, social psychiatry, or similar. We value positivity, responsibility, and flexibility. We also want you to have a high level of empathy and be attentive. Relevant education in care and social services or similar is also meritorious.

A B driver's license is desirable and in some cases a requirement.

What does our recruitment process look like?

  • Selection and interviews will be conducted continuously during the application period based on the needs of the operations.
  • You need to provide two managerial references, one of which should be your current or most recent manager. Have you had one or no job before? Then you can provide another relevant reference, such as a supervisor or teacher. Please contact your references before you enter their contact details.
  • If you have previously been employed within Kungälv Municipality, we will contact your former manager to obtain internal references as part of our recruitment process.
  • For this position, a background check will be conducted according to the law. Therefore, before employment can be finalized, an extract from the criminal and suspicion register must be presented, and the extract must not be older than six months.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities, and selection will be ongoing.
