Staff Assistant (GSS/K)

The role of the Army Combat School (MSS) is to create conditions for ground combat units to effectively fulfill their assigned tasks both nationally and internationally, in collaboration with other parts of the army. MSS also addresses tasks for the entire Armed Forces, such as the development and procurement of soldier-carried equipment, firearms, and support weapons. Within this framework, the Army Combat School trains the future leaders of the Armed Forces using advanced training facilities and extensive knowledge.

Main Responsibilities

Your position includes supporting the staff with various administrative tasks and managing incoming and outgoing information in different command support systems. You will also participate in preparations and execution of exercises, in various roles as a staff assistant or commander.

The employment involves periodic absence for exercises and business trips, both in Sweden and abroad. In this position, there is an opportunity to develop towards a functional direction as a combat control assistant, combat assistant, or intelligence assistant.

Qualifications

  • Approved high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Approved military basic training.
  • Driver's license Class B (manual).

Desirable Qualifications

  • Previous employment within the Armed Forces or basic training as a staff assistant.
  • Good ability to handle Microsoft Office applications (Office 2010 and later).
  • Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
  • Military driving license.
  • Training in PRIO, Emilia, and Vidar.

The Army Combat School is a joint army school for the development, education, and training of the army's combat units. Employment with us entails placement in a security classification. Swedish citizenship is usually required. A security clearance with a background check will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Employment includes an obligation to be placed in wartime. The implications of this vary depending on the type of position. Each permanent position begins with a 6-month probationary period unless you are already employed in the Armed Forces.
