Special Helicopter Group (SHG)
is a special operations unit within the Swedish Armed Forces' special forces system (FMSF) located at the Helicopter Wing in Linköping. SHG's primary tasks are tactical transport, intelligence gathering, and air support. Like other units within FMSF, SHG has high demands for availability from specially selected personnel, with extensive operational experience and high levels of training and competence.
About the Position
As a LOGISTICS SOLDIER at SHG, you will be part of the unit's staff and support platoon at the base company. The staff and support platoon encompasses several supporting functions, including security, communications/IT, logistics, and fuel.
The work is usually carried out in smaller groups where the ability to collaborate, attention to detail, and humility are prerequisites for the flexible working methods that should permeate the operations. Primarily, you will be part of the unit's logistics function under the leadership of logistics officers. You will also be part of a mobile fuel team that, often independently, supports helicopter crews with fuel both at the base and in the field. Over time, you will have the opportunity to help drive and develop the combat unit within your own function as well as in other areas.
Main Responsibilities
- Be part of the unit's logistics function and, as part of a group, solve a wide range of logistics tasks.
- Be part of a mobile fuel team that supports helicopter crews with fuel services.
- Contribute to the development of the combat unit and your own function.
Several other tasks will be added, and the work places very high demands on initiative, problem-solving ability, and the willingness to see and understand what needs to be done to develop the function's working methods. The position involves maintaining readiness for national and international operations, in some cases with short notice.
Qualifications
- Completed GMU/military service with approved grades.
- Good ability to express oneself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
- Approved according to FM FysS.
- Driving license class C or equivalent military driving license.
Meritorious
- Group leader training.
- Previous experience as a fuel soldier.
- Training in fuel quality assurance.
- Basic course in aviation fuel.
- Training ALARP, FARP, FARS.
- Security guard training.
- ADR certificate at least class 1, 3, and tank.
- Driving license class CE, Military driving license CE.
- Forklift license.
- Previous international service.

- Service-minded and responsible.
- Initiative and problem-solving ability.
- Good collaboration skills and also self-driven.
- Resilient and robust with the ability to handle rapid changes.
- Detail-oriented and structured.
- Safety-conscious.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability in connection with selection tests.

Employment rate: Full-time, scheduled working hours

Start date: Week 631-632
Employment form: The employment is based on the Swedish Armed Forces' collective agreement for employment of group leaders, soldiers, and sailors (GSS/K). This may involve a 6-month probationary period and thereafter employment for up to 8 years with the possibility of extension for 4 years.
