Special Helicopter Group (SHG)

is a special operations unit within the Swedish Armed Forces' special forces system (FMSF) located at the Helicopter Wing in Linköping. SHG's primary tasks are tactical transport, intelligence gathering, and air support. Like other units within FMSF, SHG has high demands for availability from specially selected personnel, with extensive operational experience and a high level of training and competence.

About the position

As L QI FU at SHG, you will take on the role of local quality engineer for the unit's aviation maintenance organization. You will be placed in the squadron's S4 staff and support, together with the ground flight safety officer, FSO-M, the local head of aviation maintenance, L C FU, with the operational management regarding aviation maintenance.

Main tasks

  • Reports directly to CQ FU regarding the quality system.
  • Supports CQ FU in the Air Force's central quality work.
  • Assists CQ FU with conducting internal audits of compliance with regulations in all Air Force aviation maintenance organizations.
  • Issues, renews, or revokes authorizations within the aviation maintenance service.
  • Supports L C FU with local operational management regarding aviation maintenance in the squadron.
  • Acts as a staff member in the squadron's S4 function.

Several other tasks will be added, and the work places very high demands on initiative, problem-solving ability, and the willingness to see and understand what needs to be done to develop the function's working methodology. The position involves maintaining readiness for national and international operations, sometimes with short notice.

Qualifications

  • Specialist officer, SO 7-8.
  • Approved according to FM FysS.
  • Driving license class B.
  • Good ability to express oneself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
  • Swedish citizenship.

Meritorious

  • Aviation technician certificate according to Cat B1.
  • Previous experience working in leadership positions within aviation maintenance at platoon, company, or staff level.
  • Previous experience working with operational management of aviation maintenance.
  • Previous experience in quality work.
  • Driving license class BE, C, CE.
  • Military driver's license.
  • Previous international service.

Helicopter support is requested by many, for example for personnel, equipment, or medical transport, command, reconnaissance, or surveillance missions. The Helicopter Wing often participates in missions and exercises with other units but also as support to society in various crisis situations.
