Special Helicopter Group (SHG)

The Special Helicopter Group (SHG) is a special operations unit within the Swedish Armed Forces' special operations system (FMSF) located at the Helicopter Wing in Linköping. SHG's primary tasks are tactical transport, intelligence gathering, and air support. Like other units within FMSF, SHG has high demands for availability from specially selected personnel, with extensive operational experience and a high level of training and competence.

About the Position

Positions are being recruited for LEADERSHIP ROLES IN AIR MAINTENANCE SO7; SERVICE MANAGER, SERVICE LEADER, and PREPARATION LEADER in the unit's air maintenance company. The company encompasses several supporting functions, including air maintenance, aviation material, and flight safety equipment.

The work in leadership positions in air maintenance at SHG is varied and takes place at different tempos, situations, and environments. Depending on your background and ambitions, you will be placed in a suitable position. Your main tasks will be to plan and lead line maintenance or preparation on helicopter 16 both nationally and internationally, during exercises and operations.

Regardless of whether you have experience leading air maintenance in equivalent positions on HKP16 or not, you will start by serving a period on the hangar floor as a technician. This is to get into the air maintenance service at the unit.

You are offered a position as a helicopter technician and given the opportunity to undergo tests for leadership roles within the air maintenance function.

Main Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and lead line maintenance and preparation on helicopter 16 both nationally and internationally during exercises and operations.
• Contribute to the development of the combat unit and your own function.
• Act as a representative for air maintenance or preparation within the air maintenance company, by following and contributing to the development of the function and training internally within the company.

Several other tasks will be added, and the work places very high demands on initiative, problem-solving ability, and the willingness to see and understand what needs to be done to develop the function's working methodology. The position involves maintaining readiness for national and international operations, in some cases with short notice.

Qualifications

• Specialist officer, SO 6-7.
• Valid certificate according to EASA part 66 B1 or EMAR part 66 B1 certificate or in training.
• Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
• Approved according to FM FysS.
• Driver's license class B.
• Swedish citizenship.

Meritorious

• Previous experience in equivalent positions as service manager, service leader, or preparation leader.
• EASA part 66 certificate B1:3.
• EMAR part 66 certificate B1:3 or B2.
• Type course helicopter 16.
• Driver's license class BE, C, CE.
• Military driving license.
• Previous international service.

• Good collaboration skills and also self-driven.
• Resilient and robust with the ability to handle rapid changes.
• Meticulous and structured.
• Proactive and able to independently identify and solve problems.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability during the selection tests.
