Training Officer (SO 7) at the Flight School

The Flight School (FlygS) trains pilots and other crew members for the Air Combat Forces. The Air Force Flight School is now looking for a dedicated and competent Training Officer who wants to work with advanced flight training, simulator development, and pilot operational support.

About the Unit

The Flight School (FlygS) at Malmen in Linköping conducts training for military pilots for the Swedish Armed Forces flight service. The Flight School is part of the Armed Forces' joint educational activities and trains pilots for all air units and flying systems within the Armed Forces.

The operations include both theoretical and practical training, from basic flight training to more advanced tactical flight training. The training is supported by modern simulators, aircraft, and digital educational tools.

Main Responsibilities

As a training officer, you will be an important part of the Air Force's training chain. You will work closely with instructors, flight teachers, and technical staff and be responsible for ensuring that our pilot students receive a realistic, effective, and safe training environment.

You will be part of a professional team focused on pedagogy and flight safety.

• Manage simple operations of the flight school's simulators and ensure high availability
• Be responsible for simulator-related tasks that require pilot competence
• Plan and conduct training for new simulator instructors
• Support external customers in flight operational issues, OPEVAL, and related evaluations
• Verify errors, conduct check flights of simulators, and document any deviations
• Support divisions with instructor competence according to operational needs
• Be able to lead debriefings focused on learning and flight safety
• Create and develop generic and specific flight exercises, scenario development, and analysis of student performance
• Document training activities according to applicable regulations

Qualifications

• Professional officer
• Pilot background on hkp15 with at least 1000 flight hours
• Several years of experience in flight training
• Good ability to express oneself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
