Special Helicopter Group (SHG) is Hiring a Pilot

The Special Helicopter Group (SHG) is a special operations unit within the Swedish Armed Forces' special operations system (FMSF) located at the Helicopter Wing in Linköping. SHG's primary tasks are tactical transport, intelligence gathering, and air support. Like other units within FMSF, SHG has high demands for availability, personnel with extensive operational experience, and a high level of training and competence. All personnel have voluntarily applied to SHG, are specially selected, and trained together with the Special Operations Group (SOG) and other units from FMSF.

About the Position

As a pilot in the Special Helicopter Group, you will be part of a division whose task is to support with helicopter resources in various situations and changing climates within the framework of FMSF operations. Initially, you will serve as a co-pilot in a crew with a forecast towards commander and will gradually develop competencies in various special areas.

A number of diverse additional tasks will be included, and the work places high demands on initiative, problem-solving ability, and the willingness to see and understand what needs to be done to increase the unit's efficiency and capability. Travel within and outside Sweden occurs frequently in daily service.

Qualifications

• Completed SOU or OP against AO PILOT HKP
• Completed GFSU Ground or Sea HKP15
• Approved according to FM FysS including additional test level 3
• Driver's license B / Military Driving License
• Very good knowledge of English, spoken and written

Meritorious

• Completed international service
• Other language skills
• Completed TIS HKP16
• Completed Crew Chief Course
• Completed Flight Service Management level 2
• Flight time NVG

The job requires you to be highly initiative-driven and have the ability to independently see and solve problems. As a person, you are unpretentious, social, and service-oriented with the entire unit's results in focus. You have the ability to quickly adapt and solve your tasks, even under stressful situations.
