The Gothenburg Primary School Administration is one of the largest school administrations in Sweden. We are responsible for the city's municipal schools from preschool class to grade nine, adapted primary school, culture school, and after-school care. In the administration, there are 138 municipal primary schools where almost 47,000 students attend school every day. The entire administration has about 9,700 employees who work together to develop and take care of the operations - together we pave the way for the school of the future.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Sjumilaskolan is a K-6 school in northern Biskopsgården with about 400 wonderful students and 60 competent and engaged staff members. The school has two assistant principals who together are responsible for the school's pedagogical and ongoing work. The school is part of school area 20 together with Nya Skolan with a shared principal for the school area.

At Sjumilaskolan, we actively work for continuous increased goal fulfillment, for a language-developing and inclusive approach, and develop digital learning tools in teaching. In recent years, we have had a positive trend in results at all levels and are looking for someone who wants to be part of the school's improvement work and make a difference for our students.

We are now looking for an overarching special educator for grades K-6, who will also be part of the school's development group and together with the school management have a special responsibility for driving school development.

You will have great opportunities to shape your role and your assignment at the school based on identified needs, and together with other special educators and special teachers in the school area, you will be part of our special educational team. The team will have a key function in the work of systematically developing the quality of teaching at Sjumilaskolan.

As a special educator at Sjumilaskolan, you will work closely with your colleagues and strive to create good conditions for each student to develop as far as possible and reach the national goals. You will work at the organizational, group, and individual levels with both promoting, preventive, and remedial measures. Together with the teachers, you will conduct pedagogical investigations of students' needs, formulate action plans, and conduct some teaching based on what is outlined in the action plans.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a teaching degree and is trained as a special educator. If you have previous experience as a special educator, special teacher, or as a supervisor in some form, as well as education in the field, it is an advantage. Previous experience with the school's governing documents is also advantageous.

As a person, we see that you are flexible and can individualize and vary teaching based on students' needs. You have a holistic perspective where you can work both broadly with an organizational perspective and with teaching individual students or smaller groups. You are independent in your work and take responsibility for your tasks. We also see that you have a good ability to collaborate as the position involves close dialogues at the organizational, group, and individual levels.
