Data Engineer at the Swedish Social Insurance Agency
Every year, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency makes 21 million decisions that affect people's lives and the entire society. We pay out approximately 260 billion SEK each year. It is public tax money we are responsible for. This is a significant responsibility. Therefore, we think innovatively and use the latest technology to simplify and improve, develop, and deliver IT services for the Swedish social insurance system. Do you want to work with advanced data analysis and business insights in a modern BI environment?
We are now looking for several data engineers who want to become key players in our BI team. The BI team primarily works with Oracle as the database environment and SAS Viya for analysis, data modeling, and reporting.
Data Engineer, BI, Oracle, SAS Viya
As a data engineer with us, you will work closely with analysts, operations, and IT to ensure access to reliable and well-structured data. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing data solutions that support analysis, reporting, and decision-making. You will also need to develop new reports in SAS Viya and manage existing reports in Oracle ODI.
Your responsibilities include
- Design, development, and management of data warehouses and data models
- Building and maintaining ETL/ELT flows
- Working with data integration from multiple sources
- Automating and optimizing pipelines and data flows for better performance and reliability
- Supporting analysts and operations with data and reports in SAS Viya
- Participating in requirements analysis and further development of the BI platform
- Participating in the cross-functional team's planning and deliveries in an agile context.
The position involves handling confidential information, which places high demands on proper management. Therefore, it is important that you have a strong security awareness.
We are looking for someone who
- has a university degree or equivalent experience and qualifications
- has experience working as a data engineer, BI developer, or similar
- has excellent knowledge of Oracle (SQL, data modeling, performance optimization) or another equivalent BI environment
- understands data warehouse architecture and BI solutions
- has knowledge of ETL tools and automation
- has experience building data warehouses or pipelines
- has a structured approach with a focus on quality, security, and documentation
- can act on their own initiative and takes responsibility for achieving good results
- collaborates effectively with others to achieve common goals
- can understand and analyze complex issues
- has good communication skills, both spoken and written
- has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
It is an advantage if you have
- Experience with large datasets and complex information models
- Experience with agile working methods
- A background in statistics or advanced data analysis
- Experience with SAS Viya or other SAS environments
- Experience working in a DevOps team.

Several positions, permanent, full-time, with start date by agreement. A probationary period may be applicable. In accordance with the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's security guidelines, background checks will be conducted in this recruitment. For this position, Swedish citizenship is required. Remote work is possible if the job allows. Psychological tests may be used as part of the selection process in this recruitment. Location: Sundsvall primarily, but placement in other locations is possible.
