Within the Department of Children and Education, our approximately 3,000 employees meet around 14,000 children and students in more than 100 preschools and schools throughout the municipality every day. Every child and student in Sundsvall Municipality's preschools and schools should be able to develop, learn, and achieve their goals based on their individual circumstances. Every student should leave school with the will, knowledge, and good conditions to meet adulthood and the future.

Your New Workplace

There is a lot happening regarding education and skills supply in our region, and the Department of Children and Education has many exciting assignments related to this.

The Department of Children and Education in Sundsvall needs to appoint a function at the administrative level with a clearer responsibility and space to drive the department's digital development and be responsible for the department's action plan to make it a reality. Initially, a clear and concrete purpose for the digitalization of the department must be developed, a detailed current situation analysis must be conducted, and subsequently, an extended action plan for 2026 and beyond must be created as an integrated part of the department's operational development.

We now need to recruit a coordinator for digital development.

Your Contribution as a Coordinator

We are looking for someone who truly wants to work with digitalization and IT in the education sector and thrives in the intersection between technology and operations. Being the link between the two comes naturally to you, and you can easily engage in technical discussions with IT specialists while effectively navigating the language of the operations. Your closest colleagues describe you as service-oriented, structured, and flexible. Your outlook on the world is opportunity-oriented, and you have a strong drive to contribute to change and development with the best interests of Sundsvall Municipality's children and students in focus. You will work in a team with process leaders, IT strategists, and information security.

Your Skills and Experience

You have post-secondary education in IT, systems science, business development, or another education that the employer deems equivalent. You should possess a broad and general knowledge of IT and digitalization issues, as well as information and data security, and identity and access management in mission-critical systems.

As an applicant, you have the following qualities:

• Analytical, structured, and meticulous, yet quick when the situation demands it.
• Good communication skills and comfortable conducting training and explaining systems in a pedagogical manner.
• Collaborative and enjoys being the link between operations and IT.
• Solution-oriented, curious, and proactive, with the ability to see what needs to be done and take action.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Good technical understanding of how operational systems work in practice, including how different systems and integrations interact,
• Experience working with IT in the education sector, for example, with learning platforms, student management systems, and technical platforms,
• Experience working process-oriented according to ITIL.
