Responsibilities

As an operations technician, you will work operationally in the municipality's IT operations environment and be an important part of the daily work to ensure available and secure IT services. The role includes both ongoing operations and technical system management, where you contribute to order, structure, and quality in our environment.

Examples of tasks include operation, monitoring, and management of server environments (Windows/Linux), handling and development of backup and recovery solutions, as well as technical system management of selected platforms and services. The work also includes troubleshooting and incident management, participation in change requests, and documentation of operations, routines, and technical solutions. You will collaborate closely with the service desk, technical specialists, and external suppliers.

You will be part of a team that works together for a stable, secure, and well-functioning IT operation, with a focus on preventive work and continuous improvements.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with experience in IT operations in larger environments, preferably within the public sector. You have good knowledge of server operations, backup, and technical management, as well as experience with virtualization, monitoring, and storage solutions. Furthermore, you have a basic understanding of security and access control. You work in a structured manner, document your work, take responsibility for your tasks, and express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

It is advantageous if you have experience working with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, as well as knowledge of ITIL or similar methodologies. If you have also worked in hybrid environments, where on-premises solutions are combined with cloud services, we see this as a benefit. Experience from public sector or other complex organizations is also meritorious.

In connection with the interview, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Approved documents are Passport, International ID card, Driver's license + personal certificate from the tax agency, or other ID documents that strengthen citizenship. We welcome language skills in Finnish and/or any of the Sámi varieties as Örnsköldsvik municipality is part of both Finnish and Sámi administrative areas.

In our municipality, a number of positions are placed in a security class, so a security check may occur. These positions require Swedish citizenship.
