The Jämtland Gymnasium Federation is responsible for upper secondary school, adapted upper secondary school, and parts of adult education in our member municipalities. The federation's eight schools are located in nature and mountain-adjacent environments spread across six municipalities – Berg, Bräcke, Krokom, Ragunda, Åre, and Östersund.

Jämtlands Gymnasium Fyrvalla is the heart of vocational education in Jämtland. Here, all vocational upper secondary programs and several adult education programs are offered in adapted educational environments with modern equipment. The school has a close collaboration with the region's business community in various industries.

Description

Are you a trained baker or pastry chef with a few years of professional experience? We are now looking for an engaged person for a temporary position as a teacher at Fyrvalla in Östersund.

The position is a temporary role with a workload of 60–100%, depending on your availability and the needs of the organization. Start date by agreement.

Your Future Responsibilities

You will teach upper secondary students in the Restaurant and Food Program with a focus on bakery and pastry. Teaching will take place both practically in our well-equipped facilities and theoretically in classrooms.

The background for the temporary position is that one of our regular teachers will be absent for a period, and we are therefore looking for someone to strengthen our team during that time.

Who Are You?

To thrive and succeed in this role, we see that you are attentive, flexible, and have an interest in pedagogy – in addition to your professional knowledge in bakery or pastry.

In teaching, it is less about creating perfect baked goods yourself and more about inspiring students to want to learn and develop. It is important that you enjoy working with young people and that you have the patience and commitment to support them in their learning process.

The work also involves following up on students' development, both on-site at school and out on their APL (workplace-based learning).

It is an advantage if you have experience working with computer support in teaching and/or have previously worked in education – even if it has not been specifically in bakery and pastry.
