Description
We are looking for a special education teacher who combines special education work with mentoring and teaching in Aesthetic Communication.
The position is a fixed-term employment at 75% with a start date of 2026-08-11.
Your Future Responsibilities
You will teach students in the natural resource program with a focus on horse management, where students choose a profile in trotting or Icelandic horses. Our students come from all over Sweden and the rest of the Nordic countries, and about 10 percent have Norwegian, Danish, or Finnish as their native language. This means you will encounter a diverse student group with different linguistic and pedagogical needs.
As a special education teacher, you will work closely with students, teachers, and mentors to identify support needs, conduct pedagogical assessments, and contribute to developing accessible and differentiated teaching. You will also be involved in the school's study yard, which is staffed weekly with colleagues and aims to provide students with extra support in their learning.
You will be part of the team at Wången and actively participate in collegial learning and joint development work. Together with the program's vocational teachers, you will plan the teaching and contribute to the coherence and progression of students' education. We conduct long-term school development work focusing on a relational approach, where accessibility, differentiation, and high expectations are central components.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who is a licensed teacher and trained special education teacher, who wants to develop teaching together with colleagues and students. You are confident in your teaching role, have good didactic skills, and a deep understanding of how learning occurs – both at the individual and group level.
You thrive in the classroom and have the ability to adapt teaching based on students' different needs and conditions. With a relational and inclusive approach, you contribute to creating an accessible learning environment where students receive the right support and challenges to reach as far as possible in their knowledge development.
You have good collaboration skills and see cooperation with students, guardians, colleagues, and school management as a natural part of the mission. You are well acquainted with documentation, extra adaptations, special support, and assessment, and use digital tools as a natural part of teaching and follow-up.
We place great importance on personal suitability. You are solution-oriented, flexible, and willing to try different working methods to create good conditions for each student to succeed – both academically and in their personal development.
What can we offer you?
We offer a pleasant, modern, and dynamic workplace in a unique educational environment. With us, you will be part of an engaged team where we support each other in daily work and actively work with collegial learning and joint development.
We value good working conditions and offer, in addition to a stimulating work environment, several employee benefits such as wellness grants and pension advice.
