Åre Municipality is a Sami administrative municipality, and we welcome applicants who have linguistic and cultural knowledge of Sami.

Åre School is a F-3 school with about 140 students. The school is located in the expansive tourist region of Åre/Duved in western Jämtland, and it is therefore natural for the school to have a profile with a lot of movement, outdoor activities, and a pedagogical foundation based on a Growth Mindset. Forest areas, walking paths, ski slopes, and ski trails are in close proximity to the school.

In Åre's leisure activities, over 60 children are enrolled. We currently have two departments, the Preschool Class and the First Graders' leisure (Children in grades 2-3 attend a cooperative leisure). We work based on the curriculum for leisure homes, and together with our proven experience, we provide students with a really good program where they can truly develop and feel good.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for an enthusiastic educator for the leisure home at Åre School. Two colleagues who have worked with us for many years have chosen to move on in life. Therefore, we are looking for two new colleagues for the leisure home in each work team.

You will work in a team with the common task of creating a safe and good environment in close collaboration with the school's other educators. We have a very popular and good leisure home at Åre School. School and leisure home are prioritized equally, and everyone is responsible for their part in the student's entire day. From the first bus contact in the morning to the break supervisors, the ones who clean, the ones who cook, the teacher in the classroom, all the way to the last hour at leisure. We all have important roles in the student's day.

Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for the operations at leisure for grades F-1. Currently, including you, there are six of us working together. You will also be present during school hours for parts of the day and collaborate with a classroom teacher. Exact job responsibilities may vary from year to year depending on class sizes, students' needs, etc. You are employed at the school and are supervised by the principal based on the tasks deemed most important according to the school's needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• We would like you to have:
• worked at (our) school before
• Experience working with students/children
• Be accustomed to leading a group of children
• Experience working with NPF students previously

You enjoy and like working together in a team, and you like working with children. We will choose colleagues based on grades, personal assessments, and references.

The position is vacant provided that there is no surplus, need for reassignment, or priority in the municipality. A probationary period may be applied.
