Music Teachers Wanted at Östbergsskolan

Do you want to inspire children and youth through the power of music? We are currently looking for two music teachers for grades 4-9 who want to help develop our teaching and contribute to students' desire to learn. We would also like you to have qualifications in another subject as a combination.

Östbergsskolan is a 4-9 school with approximately 420 students and an associated after-school program, located centrally in Östersund on Frösön. We have close access to outdoor activities and nature, with cycling distance to Östersund's city center and other neighborhoods. Here, active outdoor life is combined with a developing work life, and it is close to jobs, friends, and school. Östersund is also an expanding university town, where research and business develop together, while new neighborhoods emerge and offerings expand. Östersund is currently undergoing exciting development, and you are welcome to grow with us.

About the Job

As a music teacher, you will play a crucial role in educating and inspiring our students in music. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching according to the school's governing documents and considering each student's individual needs and circumstances.

You will be part of an established subject team and working group where you will encounter a positive and creative work environment, with a focus on collegial learning. Your work will involve collaboration with colleagues, where you will work together for continuous pedagogical development and to create the best conditions for students' success.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Teaching certification with qualifications to teach music and preferably another subject
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

Meritorious

  • Good knowledge of digital work and computer skills
  • Previous teaching experience is considered an asset
  • Experience working with the later years of primary school
  • Experience as a musician and/or competence in instruments and/or digital music creation, sound, and systems is an advantage.

Depending on the combination of subjects, full-time may be possible.

You continuously develop the teaching and support students in their learning processes, with a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and the different conditions of individuals. You have a good ability to create positive relationships, are clear and attentive, and have good collaboration skills, resolving conflicts constructively.

We would like you to coordinate groups and become a reference point for others, creating engagement and participation. You plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively. You express a positive attitude towards your work, the organization, and the community. You act in accordance with decisions made, the operational plan, goals, policies, and guidelines.

You are guided by goal- and result-oriented thinking in prioritizing, planning, and acting. You have the ability to change your direction when goals change. Additionally, you have a strong musical interest.
