At Ås School, there are about 500 students. We work closely together to create comprehensive solutions for the students. The work is based on the student's potential for development and learning throughout the day. Both teachers and after-school staff work with PAX in the school to promote safety and study focus, and they undergo training in language development methods and motivation for learning.

At the school, we have new and suitable facilities that provide good conditions for learning.

The Department of Education and Child Care has about 800 employees. The department's activities extend across the entire municipality and include preschool, primary school F-9, adapted primary school, after-school care, food and cleaning, mother tongue, and library services.

A Day as a Special Educator at Ås School

As a special educator with us, you are an important part of the school's student health work. Together with the school's student health team and the principal, you work both preventively, proactively, and remedially to ensure that all students develop as far as possible. You are one of two special educators at the school and have close collaboration with other colleagues in the Student Health Team.

Other important tasks in the profession include identifying development needs and driving the development of the organization towards set goals and contributing to the school's development. There are great opportunities for you to use your knowledge and experience to further develop the organization's working methods together with your colleagues.

Your Competence

Education as a special educator, special teacher, or equivalent competence.

In addition to your formal qualifications, we place great importance on your ability to collaborate with students, educators, and guardians. In short, we are looking for a secure and stable person who can build trust.

We also value your commitment and pedagogical competence.

Experience working with pedagogical development at subject and school level.

Permanent employment at 100% starting on 12/8-2026.
