Lit School Area in the northern parts of Östersund Municipality is looking for a special teacher

Lit School Area includes Treälvsskolan F-9 with 335 students, Häggenås School F-6 with 95 students, and Bringåsen School F-6 with 65 students. In the Lit School Area, we have a positive view of students and high expectations. Our goal is to create a good environment with a high level of knowledge together with guardians and students. Your new job

For the school year 2026-2027, we need to complement our team with an additional special teacher. Our special team consists of two special educators and one special teacher (focusing on students' language, writing, and reading development), and we wish to enhance our competence with a special teacher focusing on mathematics. A new way of working preventively and promoting together with the school's health team is under development, where your experiences and ideas will be important. The focus is on the school's development work - to develop learning environments, attitudes, and teaching so that the schools meet all students' different needs.

Common tasks

As a special teacher with us, you will be a key person in our work with support measures for students. You will work closely with students, teachers, and special educators to make support measures and adjustments concrete in the classroom.

You will be important in the work of:

• Planning, implementing, and in consultation with the special educator, following up on special support for students, both individually and in smaller groups.
• Collaborating with other special teachers, special educators, and the school's health staff.
• Having dialogue with guardians to create a holistic approach to students' learning.

Your competence

Special teacher degree, preferably with a focus on mathematics. You are well acquainted with the school's governing documents and can apply them in daily work.

You are active in creating contacts and good relationships with colleagues, students, and guardians and have a good ability to collaborate. You have the empathetic ability to understand students' needs and meet them where they are, as well as to listen, encourage, stimulate, and challenge them to further develop.
