Östersund Municipality Seeks Engaged Science and Technology Teacher

Östersund Municipality is looking for an engaged Science and Technology teacher for grades 7-9 at Vallaskolan.

The position is a temporary employment, 80% with a monthly salary. Start date 2026-08-11 until 2027-06-15. The employment is a substitute during the parental leave of the regular teacher.

Vallaskolan is a K-9 school in Frösön with about 574 students. The school is beautifully located in Frösön with a magnificent view of the mountain world. Our common goal is for all our students to leave Vallaskolan with good knowledge and a strong belief in themselves and their own abilities.

Job Responsibilities

Working as a teacher in Science and Technology in our 7-9 team means:

• Planning and conducting teaching in Science and Technology.
• Collaborating and developing teaching within the subjects together with your subject colleagues.
• Collaborating with the team regarding students and teaching.
• Mentorship is included in the position.
• Participating in our systematic quality work regarding analysis of knowledge, safety, and well-being.

Your Competence

Requirements

• Qualified teacher in Science and Technology, or alternatively good knowledge in the subjects and experience in teaching.
• You have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

Meritorious

• Previous experience as a teacher.
• Previous experience of working in schools.
• Good IT skills and experience working with digital tools in teaching are meritorious.
• Knowledge of the school's governing documents and the ability to implement them in daily work.
