The Social Office in Strängnäs Municipality is divided into four operational areas: individual and family care (IFO), elderly care, support for people with disabilities, and health and medical care. The unit for financial assistance is organizationally under individual and family care at the Social Office in Strängnäs. The unit's main task is to investigate and decide on the right to financial assistance and to motivate and support individuals to achieve self-sufficiency through, for example, work or studies.

In addition to the main task, the unit is also responsible for estate administration, budget and debt counseling, investigation and execution of social contracts, work related to the reception and establishment of newcomers, mediation funds, and investigation of incorrect payments (FUT).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an estate administrator, you will be responsible for:

  • Processing applications for estate notifications and making decisions in cases where the municipality represents estates
  • Investigating estates in accordance with applicable legislation and the unit's guidelines, including conducting home visits
  • Provisionally managing estates, identifying assets, debts, and estate heirs
  • Processing applications for financial assistance for funeral costs
  • Contacting relatives, authorities, banks, landlords, and funeral homes, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

To thrive and succeed in the role, we see that you have:

  • A degree in social work or another relevant higher education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
  • Experience in public authority tasks and are confident in making independent decisions.
  • Good ability to use IT/computer as a support in work. You work in a structured manner and have good administrative skills.
  • Understanding of legal and economic aspects of estate management.
  • Good ability to express yourself clearly in both spoken and written Swedish.
  • A valid driver's license (B).

It is meritorious if you have experience in:

  • Estate administration or similar activities.
  • Public authority tasks within financial assistance.
  • The operational system Treserva.
