Every day, the Tenants' Association, its elected representatives, employees, and members contribute to improving housing for people. We have been doing this for many years, and we want to continue advocating for tenants' interests, rights, and opportunities to influence their housing in the future.
Your mission
We are looking for a case handler for our legal operations, which consists of 15 dedicated employees located within the regions of Mitt and Aros-Gävle. The position is organizationally linked to the regional office in Eskilstuna, where you will work closely with a lawyer. In this role, you will primarily handle incoming cases in Sörmland. As a case handler, you will meet our members daily to provide advice and process individual member cases. The position involves both legal preparation and case handling. The work requires you to be analytical, problem-solving, and able to communicate clearly and pedagogically. To thrive in this role, you should be self-driven, service-oriented, and accustomed to managing parallel processes. We place great importance on your ability to collaborate and your approach in meetings with people.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the quality of the legal process by preparing incoming cases. This means that you will make the first contact with the member to investigate the further legal process, for example, by obtaining documents and conducting legal investigations.
- Handle individual cases.
- Represent members against landlords in rental legal matters.
- Process in the rent tribunal.
- Provide legal advice via phone, email, and spontaneous member visits.
- Be responsible for contact with property owners, managers, authorities, and opposing counsel.
- Participate in the unit's business development to strengthen the region as a driving force in community and urban development issues.
- Contact with the media.
Your background
To fit as a case handler, you should be a person characterized by energy, accuracy, and the ability to achieve good results. You have the ability to work independently, but also in a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Furthermore, you have social competence, instill trust, and are communicative in both speech and writing. For everyone working at the Tenants' Association, it is essential that you share our values and have a commitment to the issues we advocate.
Qualifications:
- At least a high school diploma
- Basic knowledge of law, e.g., legal overview course or legal introductory course
- You can express yourself well in speech and writing
- We place great importance on your ability to collaborate, your ability to work independently, and your approach in meetings with people.
Meritorious:
- Bachelor's degree in law of 180 credits.
- Experience from non-profit, member-driven, or public organizations.
- Experience working in housing companies.
- Experience in housing social issues.
- Experience in case handling.
Work samples may be applied during the recruitment process. The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date according to agreement. We apply a six-month probationary period. The workplace is located at Rademachergatan 1 in Eskilstuna. The position includes some travel, so a driver's license and access to a car are necessary.
