Job Advertisement: Position at the Swedish Energy Agency
The Swedish Energy Agency is currently in an intensive development phase as the energy and climate transition accelerates, both nationally and internationally. We are now strengthening our efforts to implement Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and establishing a function for authorization within international emissions trading. We are looking for someone at the beginning of their career who wants to take on a qualified responsibility at the intersection of international climate policy, national governance, and strategic system analysis. Apply for the position and contribute to a robust energy system for Sweden!
The Swedish Energy Agency works towards a fossil-free and robust energy supply. Security of supply, competitiveness, and ecological sustainability are perspectives that must be combined to secure the energy system of the future.
Your Responsibilities – Develop, Structure, and Ensure Quality
In this role, you will divide your time between two central tasks in the energy and climate transition. One part involves developing and shaping the work with authorization according to Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. You will further develop working methods, routines, and processes, handle incoming applications, and ensure that the regulations are implemented in practice. You will closely follow international climate policy to understand how global decisions affect our mission and represent the agency in international meetings within the UN, where you will contribute to experience exchange and learning between countries.
The other part of the position focuses on qualified analysis of climate and energy policy and its impact on the Swedish energy system. Within the framework of government assignments, you will produce analyses and decision-making materials that contribute to developing the governance of the energy and climate transition.
Qualifications
In this role, we are looking for someone at the beginning of their career. You have an academic degree equivalent to at least three years of full-time studies in fields such as political science or another area that the Swedish Energy Agency deems relevant. You have at least six months of current and relevant work experience in the climate area and documented experience working with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. You have good skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English, as well as good knowledge of IT systems and programs.
It is advantageous if you have knowledge of and work experience in analysis within the energy and climate area. If you have previously worked at a government agency, we also consider that an advantage.
Personal Qualities
As a person, you are independent, structured, and enjoy taking responsibility. At the same time, you easily adapt to new circumstances and work well with others. You drive your own processes in a structured manner and take responsibility for your tasks with a high level of quality awareness. You are a good communicator and have a very good ability to express yourself in both spoken and written Swedish and English. We place great importance on personal qualities. We look forward to meeting you with drive, commitment, and interest in the position!
