Job Advertisement: Museum Hosts for Rademachersmedjorna and Eskilstuna City Museum

Rademachersmedjorna is a unique and open-air museum. Here you will find a living craft village from the 1650s, right in Eskilstuna. The area houses historical blacksmith environments, active craftsmen, museums, cafes, and restaurants. Entrance is free. Rademachersmedjorna is one of Eskilstuna's top attractions and showcases the city's proud tradition of blacksmithing.

Eskilstuna City Museum is beautifully located on Faktoriholmarna in central Eskilstuna. Our exhibitions cater to both adults and children. Here, visitors can experience and learn more about Eskilstuna's history. The museum reception is a place with a lot of life and movement. Several things often happen at the same time here. Therefore, you need to be able to shift focus, prioritize, and provide good service.

We are looking for museum hosts for both Rademachersmedjorna and Eskilstuna City Museum. The positions are on-call, which means you will work as needed. For the position at Rademachersmedjorna, you also need to be available to work from Thursday to Sunday during week 26 through week 29.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In one position, you will be the face of the museum and welcome our visitors. You will guide them, ensure that the exhibitions are clean, answer our official phone and email inbox. With us, you will meet many different people, both big and small. Since our largest visitor group is children and families, it is especially important that you enjoy working surrounded by children. You will have knowledgeable and engaged museum colleagues nearby to help you with any questions that arise. In other words, you are the spider in the web, facilitating contacts and ensuring that visitors get answers to their questions. You will also staff our museum shop and café. In addition to working at the cash register, you will be responsible for patrolling the museum and keeping it clean.

In the other position, at Rademachersmedjorna, you will greet and welcome visitors to the area. Your responsibilities will also include conducting daily tours about the area's history. The work can sometimes be quiet, so you need to be able to work independently and take responsibility. You will be responsible for cleaning and keeping the operation tidy and pleasant.

You will work weekends, school holidays, and cover for sick leave during weekdays. You will also be responsible for opening and closing the operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

With your sense of hospitality and service, you ensure that all our visitors feel seen and welcome. During periods with many different things happening simultaneously, you maintain your calm and can independently prioritize and find solutions. As a person, you are open and outgoing and easy to approach. You are responsible and take initiative in what needs to be done. We want you to have completed high school education and preferably have worked with guiding in some form. This could be in a museum, castle, manor, or site tours. You speak and write fluently in both Swedish and English.

The Culture and Leisure Administration's mission is to create conditions for good living conditions for all Eskilstuna residents and visitors by offering a broad cultural range and opportunities for stimulating leisure activities.
