Summer Internship at the Energy Markets Inspectorate
Do you want to work for well-functioning energy markets, addressing issues that are important for society today and in the future? Then the Energy Markets Inspectorate (Ei) is the workplace for you. We influence regulatory development and the energy transition in both Sweden and Europe, contributing to active and informed energy customers. We have a high IT standard and a developed digital and flexible working method that allows for work from various locations.
And we are growing. We are recruiting in a variety of areas – welcome to grow with us!
Department of End-User Markets
The Department of End-User Markets works to strengthen the position of customers in the energy markets, among other things through customer information and through elpriskollen.se – Sweden's only independent comparison site for electricity contracts. We review that Sweden's energy companies comply with customer regulations in energy legislation and adjudicate disputes regarding so-called connection fees. The department is also responsible for the parts of Ei's regulatory development that concern customers and we participate in both Nordic and European networks in the field.
Job Responsibilities
As a summer intern with us, you will have a varied and developing role where you split your time between working in our consumer contact group and handling administrative tasks within finance and internal service.
Your tasks include daily interactions with energy customers who contact Ei via our consumer contact, where you answer questions and handle complaints in a professional and service-oriented manner. You will also work with elpriskollen.se by quality assuring the data reported by electricity trading companies. It may also be relevant to contribute to ongoing projects or other assignments, for example within supervisory work.
In parallel with this, you will support the finance unit with invoice management. You will also contribute to internal service through administrative tasks and document management, as well as ensuring that the premises function properly. This may involve reporting faults, restocking materials, and making minor purchases.
The work is carried out both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues across unit and departmental boundaries, giving you a broad insight into Ei's operations and working methods.
For this summer internship, you are expected to work on-site at our office in Eskilstuna.

In this job, you should have:
- an ongoing academic education with a focus on law or political science
- completed at least one academic year of your education with passing grades
- good ability to express yourself in speech and writing, in both Swedish and English.
