Controller for Eskilstuna Municipality
Do you want to work closely with the operations and contribute to good financial management in a municipality with high ambitions?
We are now looking for you with an economic education who wants to help create sustainable conditions for both employees and residents in Eskilstuna municipality. Year-end closing and analysis are part of the Service Administration, Eskilstuna municipality's shared service organization. The unit consists of 30 employees including team leaders and a unit manager. Our mission is to provide professional, equitable, and operational support to the municipality's administrations.
We work with a clear focus on operational development, quality, and continuous improvements. The work is independent and developing, with the opportunity to plan and prioritize based on the needs of the operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a controller, you have a central role in the municipality's financial processes. You work with budgeting and forecasting, analysis and follow-up, as well as accounting and year-end closing. The assignment involves both operational work and a development focus where you contribute to improving and streamlining work methods and routines.
You work consultatively with managers and colleagues on financial-related issues and create security by providing a good overview and decision support. The role involves close collaboration and ongoing dialogue with financial managers, operational managers, and unit managers within the municipality's various administrations.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a bachelor's degree in economics and experience in qualified economic work, preferably in an advisory or consultative role. You are used to working analytically with budgets, forecasts, follow-ups, and analysis, and have the ability to translate numbers and data into clear decision support for managers and operations.
You have good knowledge of the Office suite, especially Excel, and work in a structured and careful manner even when the pace of work varies. It is advantageous if you have experience from municipal or other public operations and have worked in systems such as Hypergene and/or Agresso/Unit4. Experience of working within or towards school operations is also considered a merit.
Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities. You have a strong analytical ability and enjoy delving into details, while also being able to lift your gaze and see the whole picture. You are flexible and adaptable in your working style and find it easy to handle changing conditions and new needs.
You are change-oriented and see development as a natural part of your assignment. With a professional and service-oriented approach, you create trust, collaborate well with others, and actively contribute to developing work methods, processes, and routines.
