The Energy Systems Department

The Energy Systems Department is responsible for the regulation of electricity and gas network operations. We set revenue frameworks for electricity and gas network companies and monitor that the networks are reliable, efficient, and meet the requirements for transmission. In our mission, we are responsible for supervision of delivery quality, efficient utilization of electricity networks, and technical conditions for demand flexibility. We also oversee the measurement of electricity, natural gas, district heating, and district cooling and work with the EU's common commission regulations for electricity and gas. The Energy Systems Department collects, quality assures, and analyzes economic and technical data from electricity and gas network companies. We also provide technical support to other departments at Ei.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for two summer interns who are current economics students.

With us, you will have the opportunity to test your skills in practice and gain a rewarding and meaningful job. You will develop in the field and learn more about energy markets.

Every year, the Energy Markets Inspectorate collects a wealth of data from electricity, gas, and district heating companies. As a summer intern, you will play a central role in reviewing this data. You will quality check data from the companies' annual reports, giving you deep insight into economic operations.

You will also be the contact person and provide support to companies regarding reporting, both via email and phone. The job is done in close collaboration with other summer interns, providing an opportunity to learn from each other. Additionally, you will receive support and guidance from our experienced colleagues.

For this summer internship, you are expected to work on-site at our office in Eskilstuna.

Qualifications

In this job, you should have:

  • a current academic education in economics where you have completed at least 30 credits in business administration with passing grades when the employment begins
  • studied basic accounting at the academic level and wish to deepen your knowledge in accounting
  • good computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel
  • the ability to express yourself clearly in speech and writing in Swedish.

We particularly appreciate if you have previous experience in:

  • reviewing economic data from electricity, gas, and district heating companies or reviewing other economic data.

In addition to your formal qualifications, we place great importance on your personal qualities. In this role, it is important that you:

  • are meticulous and have a structured working method
  • are responsible and willing to take your own initiatives
  • have good collaboration and communication skills
  • are quality-conscious.

Ei has around 220 employees and we are located in modern premises in Eskilstuna.
