Communicator for the Municipal Executive Administration

We are now looking for a communicator for the Municipal Executive Administration. The administration works on behalf of the municipal executive board to lead and coordinate the municipality's operations. Here you will find municipal functions such as HR, finance, communication, IT, and committee administration. We also coordinate work within culture, leisure, business, and tourism. The administration operates on behalf of the municipal executive board.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a communicator focused on water and community development projects, you will play an important role in supporting the municipality's larger community development projects through clear and strategic communication. You will plan, produce, and coordinate both internal and external communication regarding ongoing and upcoming projects such as the construction of a new water treatment plant, feasibility studies for a new sewage treatment plant, and various urban development projects, as well as in ongoing proactive and reactive communication within the area.

You will work both strategically and operationally and be a key person in the collaboration between internal operations and external contractors and partners. Through your work, you will ensure effective, accessible, and engaging communication to residents, business owners, employees, and other stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include supporting the community development administration by planning, coordinating, implementing, and following up on communication work, for example:

  • Developing and producing content for the web
  • Creating relevant and engaging content for the municipality's social media
  • Producing printed materials
  • Supporting administrations and managers in communication matters
  • Supporting and working operationally in crisis communication in connection with events or crises
  • Collaborating with external partners, such as agencies, photographers, printing companies, web providers, etc.
  • Supporting spokespersons in media contacts
  • Crisis communication

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a communicator with solid experience in community communication and a good understanding of larger infrastructure projects within water and community development, including associated processes and statutory procedures. You are a skilled and quick writer who navigates effortlessly between different channels and formats.

You thrive in a fast-paced role with many contact points and deliver both in long-term projects and in situations that require quick actions with short notice. You are equally comfortable guiding managers and colleagues in communication matters as you are producing texts, video materials, and other content for various target groups and channels.

You have a strong interest in community issues, are unpretentious and self-driven. You take initiative, make things happen, and easily build trusting relationships both internally within the organization and externally with partners and other stakeholders.

You have relevant education in communication, media, or equivalent, as well as solid experience in communication work within urban planning, community development, infrastructure, and/or water issues from municipal or similar operations. You have excellent stylistic and linguistic skills in Swedish, are used to working with clear language and accessible communication.

You work independently but also enjoy close collaboration with others. You take responsibility for your tasks and drive them all the way from idea to implementation. Collaboration is a natural part of your working style, and you actively contribute to delivering high-quality communication support and service to the municipality's administrations and residents. You are a pronounced team player.

Qualifications:

  • University education in communication or equivalent as assessed by the employer
  • Experience with SiteVision as a web tool
  • Producing engaging content for Meta platforms
  • Good media knowledge and understanding of media logic
  • Competence in InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro
  • At least 5 years of experience as a communicator

It is an advantage if you have experience from the municipal sector and project management experience and/or training and experience in communication within larger urban development, community development, water, or infrastructure projects.
