Temporary Position in Work Against Men's Violence Against Women
Have you worked strategically and cross-departmentally in the area of men's violence against women, including honor-related violence and oppression, or do you want to try doing so? Then this temporary position could be an exciting opportunity for you!
The position is located at the Municipal Executive Office, the unit for social sustainability, and in this role, you will work across the municipal group to support and follow up on all administrations' and companies' work against men's violence against women. Eskilstuna Municipality is based on the government's national strategy for preventing and combating men's violence against women, which means that the area also includes work against honor-related violence and oppression, as well as against prostitution and human trafficking for sexual purposes, sexual harassment, and violence in close relationships. The work against men's violence against women has strong connections to the municipality's strategic work on gender equality, public health, and safety.
In our unit, we are six colleagues in roles as unit manager, developer, municipal strategists, and coordination manager. Our mission is to lead and coordinate the development work within social sustainability in the Eskilstuna municipal group to achieve the politically decided goals. We provide support and guidance in the work of developing and improving services available for everyone living and working in Eskilstuna. Together with a colleague, you will lead the municipality's gender equality network, which develops the municipality's gender equality work, including work against men's violence against women and honor-related violence and oppression.
An important part of the mission is collaboration. You will cooperate with external actors such as the police, other municipalities, and non-profit organizations and participate in joint development efforts. You will plan and conduct training, information initiatives, and campaigns that raise awareness of the issues, such as theme weeks and local initiatives for a life free from violence. The role also includes monitoring the external environment, disseminating current knowledge, and representing the municipality in local, regional, and national networks.
