Södermanland Police Area
The Södermanland police area is one of the police areas in the East region and operates throughout Södermanland County. The geographical area spans nine municipalities. The Södermanland police area is divided into three local police areas: Eskilstuna, Katrineholm, and Nyköping. At the police area level, there is an investigation section and a police area office.
Investigation Section
The investigation section in the Södermanland police area is organized into serious crimes, surveillance operations, crimes in close relationships, fraud crimes, crime coordination, and investigation on call. The investigation section has a joint mission for the police area and investigates crimes throughout the police area.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a financial investigator, you will work on cases of varying scope from both the section and local police areas within the Södermanland police area. The assignment is carried out in close collaboration with investigators and preliminary investigation leaders, and as a financial investigator, you are often involved in the entire investigation chain, from the case's arrival to final reporting for the prosecutor.
You will work with the investigation and mapping of income, assets, and debts, against both individuals and companies, with the aim of recovering criminal proceeds. You will work both with the collection and processing of information to map actors from an operational perspective, but also conduct in-depth analyses where a strong focus is on criminal proceeds and securing money for potential damages or confiscation of criminal proceeds.
QUALIFICATIONS
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- relevant academic degree, police degree according to Regulation (2014:1105) or other education that the employer deems relevant
- work experience in economic investigations that the employer deems relevant
- very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
- good computer skills, ability to learn new IT systems, and experience using a computer as a tool in your work
It is meritorious if you also have:
- experience in cryptocurrency
- work experience in investigations related to fraud or similar areas that the employer deems relevant
- work experience in analytical work where you have gathered a large amount of information and based on this conducted relevant analyses and conclusions
- experience in participating in or driving change work
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is responsible, curious, and has good analytical skills. You can independently drive your work forward while also being able to collaborate with others. As the role of financial investigator is continuously evolving, we also see that you are proactive and interested in developing work methods and processes.
Collaboration with both internal and external actors is a significant part of the assignment, which requires you to be relationship-building and able to act as a representative of the authority in various contexts.
We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
