Financial Controller at Fortifikationsverket
Fortifikationsverket is looking for a financial controller for the head office in Eskilstuna. Fortifikationsverket is one of Sweden's largest property owners, and we own, develop, and manage robust defense properties for peace, crisis, and war. Our properties contribute to strengthening Sweden's defense capability and securing our freedom, future, and a safer world.
The finance department at Fortifikationsverket consists of two units: the governance unit and the economics unit.
We are now looking for a financial controller for the governance unit. The governance unit consists of nine employees and is responsible for operational planning and follow-up, annual reports, central economic and financial issues, contacts with the government office, and the agency's compliance function.
Your daily life as a financial controller at Fortifikationsverket
As a controller, you will have part of the responsibility for planning and following up on operations. The tasks include participating in assignments related to the agency's strategy and operational plan, budget, and ongoing follow-ups throughout the year. You will also work on final reporting for the agency's annual report. You will focus on economic follow-up and analysis of the agency's finances. Additionally, you will write reports and present matters to the agency's management group and board, explaining financial figures to employees at various levels within the agency. Part of the job also involves supporting and educating managers, among others. You will also hold meetings, lead smaller projects, and act as an advisor on financial matters, with the ability to make complex financial issues understandable. The role aims to contribute to good cooperation with the government to promote efficiency in our production. Answers are not always given or defined and often require innovative thinking. The role will also be involved in developing the agency's processes and the governance unit's tasks.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with an academic education of at least 180 credits in economics and accounting or other relevant university or college education for the position. You have at least five years of experience working as a controller with governance issues. The position requires very good knowledge of how to manage and follow up on operations, as well as good analytical skills and economic analysis. Furthermore, it is important to have very good knowledge in economics, accounting, and you will also be responsible for qualified interest calculations. You need to have excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and enjoy a role with many points of contact. Additionally, you have good computer skills and very good knowledge of, especially, MS Excel, as well as good administrative skills. A Class B driver's license is a requirement.
It is meritorious if you have experience in property-related or defense-related issues. Experience in developing and improving processes in governance issues at the management level is also meritorious. We would like you to have experience in operational management, driving, and working on projects and development work.

About the employment
The position is a permanent employment and may begin with a probationary period. As a permanent employee, you will be placed in a war position. The place of employment is Eskilstuna. An employment with us requires Swedish citizenship and involves placement in a security class. A security review with a background check will be conducted before employment in accordance with Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
