Special Helicopter Group (SHG)

is a special operations unit within the Swedish Armed Forces' special operations system (FMSF) located at the Helicopter Wing in Linköping. SHG's primary tasks are tactical transport, intelligence gathering, and air support. Like other units within FMSF, SHG has high demands for availability from specially selected personnel, with extensive operational experience and a high level of training and competence.

About the position

As an INTELLIGENCE ASSISTANT at SHG, you will be part of the unit's staff, placed in the intelligence section, which is responsible for providing the unit with important information and assessments for special operations. This is done in close collaboration with other units within FMSF.

Main responsibilities

  • Analyze, process, and share intelligence as part of the unit's operations.
  • Collaborate and coordinate within the function with relevant actors, both internally and externally.
  • Participate in planning and follow-up of missions related to exercises and operations.
  • Contribute to the development of both the combat unit and your own function.

Qualifications

  • Completed basic military training/conscription with passing grades.
  • Generally very good computer skills and the ability to use common software in daily work.
  • Approved according to FM FysS.
  • Driver's license class B.
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
  • Swedish citizenship.

Meritorious

  • Previous service in security and/or intelligence units.
  • Previous experience handling classified information.
  • Previous staff experience.
  • Group leader training.
  • Other language skills.
  • Driver's license class BE, C, CE.
  • Previous international service.

Personal qualities

You are a natural organizer who finds it easy to prioritize and manage complex tasks – even when time is tight or conditions change rapidly. With your attention to detail and sense of precision, you can adjust the pace according to the situation's needs. As a person, you are unpretentious, humble, and social, with a positive attitude towards new challenges. You thrive on varied tasks and understand the importance of collaboration to achieve the best results. In the selection process, great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and suitability.

Employment rate: Full-time, scheduled working hours
Work location: Linköping
Start date: Week 631-632
Employment form: The employment is based on the Swedish Armed Forces' collective agreement for the employment of group leaders, soldiers, and sailors (GSS/K). This may involve a 6-month probationary period followed by employment for up to 8 years with the possibility of extension for 4 years.
